Today I noticed as I was driving my 99 Alero with the air conditioner on, I was hearing this weird noise from the fan or the air vents. I turned the A/c up higher, the noise got louder. And as I turned the AC down, the noise got quiter. Has anyone else had this problem before? Is it common? How do you fix it?

Sounds like a fan of some sort - or something is in the fan....kind of high-pitched

I think I have what you're talking about...I've just kind of ignored it.

To pinpoint it (on mine at least) if you shut the fan of quickly from high speed to off...you hear it and then it slows down as if it's something spinning that stops spinning after the fan is shut off

I bet its your blower motor. You can replace your blower motor for like $30 from a parts store. Should be pretty simple.
