You have to have the right compound, pad, and buffer, and know how to use it. It's not easy, but just about anything short of a scratch that goes through the paint can be fixed.

That's the way to fix clearcoat imperfections, tex. You sand em (I usually do 1500 followed by 2000), then a buf, then polish until all spiderwebbing is gone. That's how you get a showcar clearcoat finish, even if the sprayed clearcoat wasn't mirror perfect at first.

Just gotta make sure that it's not old paint that's been buffed/ polished away to the point that sanding will go straight through it. Making old clear look good is a destructive process, lol.
