I'm looking to install some Gold Series Streetglow underbodies and I had a few questions. First how hard are these to install yourself or with someone? I called around to get them installed and since I had already purchased them the lowest I could find was 100 and that just seems high to me.

Secondly I have a pretty big amp already pulling a considerable amount of power from my car, to the point I got a cap for the dimming, and I was wondering if I would need to upgrade the alternator before installing the neons or if I would be ok to just go ahead and hook them up. Basically I'm not sure if they pull enough power to warrant an upgrade.

Any and all help would be much appreciated!

Im not too sure on your power questions, I know if they were LED's you would be fine...those draw next to nothing for power. The neons...I dunno what they draw, but I would assume it would be ok to keep your stock alt. Might be smart to upgrade it anyway scince you have a system.
....But $100 for an instal, if its done right, isnt bad. Thats about what I would charge. 80-100.

The brand name neons are the same as the 35 $ ones on ebay. Cost me like 50$ alltogether for my neons and it came with a toggle switch. Took me like hour or two to set it up but they look awsume. Just took off the toggle switch today and put on a button. Best bet is go to ebay and search for it, if you cant find it then pm me and ill send you the link.

i have the same neon set, Street Glow Gold series. You dont need a new cap alternator or anything, i had my system bumpin at 800 watts for about an hour, at a decent volume, and the neons on. No problems starting it or with the neons fading. I just hooked them right up and like menace said, its about 1-2 hours instal, really easy if you have the common sence to wire it. and wire it right under the hood, i have the stock switch that came with it by the cigarette lighter. Looks great when its complete and the ladies love it!!!

it doesnt particularly impress me?
sure it looks nice or whatever, but i would prefer a genuine guy over one with a car that glows in contrasting colors.
You should reword that - it will impress most ladies in middle/high school.
lol!!

Thanks for all the info everybody. I wasn't sure how much power the neons would draw but it seems like I'll be ok, thanks again.
