Well it has been well over a month and a half since my car was broken into and my stuff was stolen. I'm finally getting everything worked out with the insurance company and was looking at getting the Kenwood Excelon x789

I was wondering if anyone on here had any of this series' decks and how they liked them, problems or perks.

I have an old Kenwood Excelon deck x815 in my Alero. I love it. I was looking into upgrading to the x889 and putting the older deck in my Dakota. Anyway, Kenwood Exelon In Dash = good product. I had an Excelon Amp that didn't perform to expectations, shop around for the deck. Here is the best price I found so far on the X789. Unfortunately the 889 is backordered.

The excellon is pretty decent. I had a older kenwood excellon that lasted for two years. I sold the car and bought one of the lower end decks and it lasted about four months before the display went out. I sent it back and had it repaired. About a month later some of the buttons stopped working. I took it in to work and stripped it down. The deck had some of the worst cold solder joints I had seen. I resolderd nearly 20 joints in the front panel alone.
