cup holder cover

the cupholder in the console that has the swing open cover to it.... can anyone tell me how to get that out-------> without --------> removing that part of the console??? anybody?

I may be wrong but isn't that the ashtray? take it out and you have the cupholder. Thats the way my 2001 was.

my alero has no ashtray... i have two cupholders up front.... it's not the one under the radio but the one in the middle (by shifter)

If you are talking about the cover there, you have to take out that section of the consoule. There is a little sring in there and a few more things holding it in place. lot of work just to remove that one peice.
