Waterpump DIY

I need to replace the water pump on my alero it's a 2.4 and from what I hear it's a big pain to change a local shop quoted me $300 to change it I was just wondering how hard it is to do on my own and how long will it take I know it depends on the person so if any of you have changed the waterpump let me know how long it took and if you have any tips or maybe it's worth the $300 this is my only mode of transportation so if I do it I need to be sure I can get it done

Its really just a guess, but i reall think youd be better of letting the shop do it. It dont look simple at all and, if they mess it up, they will re-do or pay for it.
