You could always "tub" the subs into the spare tire well but that would mean you wouldnt have a spare tire anymore (if you got big rims you cant use it anyway.) Fiberglass is really easy to do just read a few internet tutorials and your good to go. Although that takes time and work. But you would have lots of bass and 100% of your trunk room available.

I got my dual 10" subs installed with the amp mounted to the seat so i can simply unclip the wires to the subs and take them out when i need the storage space.

I tried mounting it on the back but it decided to fall off lol. So i mounted it on the back of the seat. Not to mention i also have a pretty crappy amp(profile california), plus have almost blown it twice for a stupid mistake and it still works fine. All in all it is my experience thus far that mounting an amp to a box is not that bad.
My $0.02

Jeremy

when we installed my amps, the vibration cracked the circuit board on one of the amps and cause one of the mosfests to fry lol my amp was on fire for a little but the audio place popped another one in there and now i have to keep them at lower power until monday when were gonna fiberglass them into the spare tire well, hopefully not as much vibration as ontop of the box

nothin against you but that statement is ass backwards, spl subs require quite a bit of room which calls for a poted enclosure(look at my setup),sq requires a small box b/c everything has to be hidden if its a competitive setup.

Which is totally false...

Who said in an SQ setup it needs to be small and hidden?

Who said in SPL it has to be gigantic?

I happen to have the displeasure of knowing a fellow that hits mid 154's with a single 12" ALpine Type R.

I also know a fellow thats a top ranked SQ competitor with a nice in your face system...

Mounting your amplifier to a sub box is never a wise idea. Looks like you found that out the hard way.

Why on EARTH would you want to glass out the spare tire well? IMO thats the dumbest install people can do, period. Before you do that, take a minute to toss your sealed box in and point it up. Then have a listen.

Im sure you wont be to impressed with it...

It took a lot of time to plan out. each part was mounted to another. Like a jig saw puzle.
