get some trim blackout tape stuff. like $6 at pepboys. much easier than removing/masking off and painting, and can be removed if you change your mind.

Chris, how difficult is it to take these trim parts off. Removing a lot of glue I imagine?
white, what is this tape that you speak of? Just a cover up? How does it work without looking like you put masking tape over your car.
Cherry, what color exactly is gunmetal? lol

and the trim pieces your talking about... it just pulls up and off the door. roll your window all the way down, and it just pulls off.

called trim blackout tape i think. its a roll about 1.5 in wide, flat black, few yards long. i bought it at pepboys for like $6. you measure out how much you need, with a little overlap, then stick it on. it can be tricky because our trim has curves in it, and this stuff doesnt like to stretch, but its not impossible. then smooth it all out, and i used a razorblade to trim it to the right width on the trim. pretty straight forward. its been on my car for like 3 yrs now and doesnt show any signs of peeling or fading.

I just tried Meguairs Ultimate Trim/Dash Restorer for interior/exterior. So far it has really done a great job reconditioning it and turning it from a white fade to a black/gray tone again. Very pleasantly surprised.

I know this sounds a little funny but, sharpie markers also work wonders for making the trim look fresh again also. My friend did it on his car and it still looks great after a couple years of Minnesota weather. You can get them in just about any color too at Blick art stores. And the trim should just pull out, if not, taking the door panel off usually made mine come right out. Lol
