Need picture of O2 wire.
Yeah, so I need a picture of the purple O2 sensor wire on the 2.4L, where it is. Apparently I tapped into the wrong one for my air/fuel ratio gauge. No reading, 'cept sometimes it flickers on the leanest. I tapped into the purple wire that goes into/from the IDI harness, LOL. I figured if I was lucky it might be the one that goes down to the O2 sensor.

What year is your car? I know from Oldsman that the 99 only has a one wire o2 sensor for the upstream sensor. I have a 2000 and mine is a 2-wire o2. But, if you just want an easy way to do it check out the pigtail from casper.
here is a link to it at pfyc.com http://www.pfyc.com/pc/PN3010/GAUNDE...n+Pigtail.html

I've got the 2000. I've got those nifty splicers so that harness pigtail isn't really necessary... as long as I can find the group of wires that has this purple wire.

I have a 2001, but I'm not sure if the 02 wire is the same for a 2000. I could try to take some o2 pictures for you.

You could just tap into the wire inside the car at the PCM too...

Nevermind, found the wire. For others who wonder, it's in wire loom, two wires (purple and like beige) go into a plastic connector that goes down into the exhaust manifold close to the rear of the engine.

However... now that my gauge works, my SES (Service ENGINE Soon) and Trac Off lights are on. Soo... did I cut off circulation from the O2 sensor to wherever it goes, or did me tapping into that random purple wire off the IDI harness cause it?

It is possible that you dropped voltage by tapping in. I had the same prob. when a shop installed my first header. When I got the one I have now I used a bigger wire and good connectors and have had no prob. I also have the pigtail and know that it works. Oldsman did it from tapping into the upstream o2. You might want to pm him and see if he can help you but, like I said his car only has a one wire upstream o2.

Eh it doesn't bother me that much, lights are lights, as long as the car's running fine. If the SES light ain't on, it ain't custom.
