Disabling ETS?

So.. I know you can disable ETS by pushing the little button below the shifter, but is there a way to keep it from coming on by default when you start your car?

Remove the speed sensor from the transaxle lol. Why do you want it off? It doesn't hold back any of the 130fwhp during any condition other than slippery snow. I guess its none of my business what Saskatoonians do so good luck.

It just interferes with my day to day driving. In the winter I've got the car stuck like 8 times in the school parking lot b/c i'll be driving through, tire slips, ETS cuts throttle, car sinks, and usually i can get it out but it sometimes gets wedged in there pretty good.

So i was hoping to get rid of it this summer when I can actually pull the car in the garage and do some work to it...

I just want it to be push the button to turn it on instead of turning it off.

There's an accessory like this made for the F-Bodies, but I don't know if it even works remotely like the Alero. Oh, and it cuts the timing, not the throttle.

It only really annoys me when the ETS comes on between shifts.

ahhhhhhh i didn't realize that. But it makes sense. I agree with you on the shifting though. I just in general don't like ETS. It's always getting in the way.

it also shuts off fuel injectors and leans out your A/F to 15.5ish all depending on how bad it thinks the tires are spinning or what it calls "an abusive maneuver while in drive". i dont have ets on my car anymore....i powrtuned it out

Well I can... but when you spend 8-10 months of the year with it being in your way it just gets irritating. Besides, i'm a computer scientist, I believe in automating my life

There's DHP powertuner and HP tuner.
The DHP cost 399 and the HP cost 499.
They are software, with a hardware that hooks up to a laptop USB .
