man that does seem sorta like a logical place...just screw the box and have 1 15 or maybe 2 10's/12's just facing down into the spare tire place then open air the back of the subs...maybe.

There are actually a few companies that use roto-molded LLDPE for enclosures, when properly damped are comparable to MDF or fibreglas enclosures. I find the best way to seal a box is to ***make sure your cuts are perfectly straight***, and use some carpenters glue. Drive in some drywall screws every 6" or so to hold it together as the glue dries, run a bead of silicone around the inside corners for good measure.

The spare tire idea is one I've been considering for about a year now...but when you really think about it, it's a lot of work for mounting a speaker in a way that pretty much forces you to drive around without a spare. Or, you could drive around with the spare in your backseat or rolling around in the trunk, but that defeats the purpose.

for driving around without a spare, i don't know in the states but i have roadside assistance and if i get a flat then i give them a call and they come and fix it. it might take longer but i don't have to carry it in the backseat.
