Yup, I made good use of this weekend! Now I'm just waiting for my gauges from Naich, and I'll be set for wiring for a while!

I waved bye-bye to having trunk space LONG ago... by the way, I haven't even made it to my first oil change yet- I may need to buy a beater pretty soon here to protect my investment!

Now I've got it where I can swap out the PS2 and Xbox in about a minute, it's easier than finding a place to mount a sytem selector. Now I spend my lunch break watching DVDs or playing video games instead of eating fast food... That's pretty much my diet plan right there.

I take it off when I get out of the car and put it in the glove box (locked) with my head unit face. nd it's mounted on a gooseneck, so it moves up another 4" an swivels at the top for a passenger to view.

Are they doing a new season now that they're just on Cartoon network?

Money money money! Heh.

It's looking good... just a few more wires to hide in that trunk. I shouldn't talk about that though.

Unrelated... do you smoke? I see the ashtray still in there. That was the first "mod" I made, tossed it in the glove box.

I'd be more comfortable watching a DVD anywhere other than my car, but I guess whatever floats your boat.

No, I don't smoke, but the ash-cup is good for toll money. I left the lighter in there just to keep it from looking like a big hole- I may put a switch for something in that space and remove the lighter assembly- but the lighter wiring now powers the TV.

MLS, I really only have it for my GF to watch a DVD on a trip or for me to watch one on my lunch break- I'm not dumb enough to watch while driving or something- it swivels to the right for her to watch, and X2 sounds great in surround sound with a big sub

do you actually have a 5.1 setup in the car (noticed the surround sound reference) or does it just really sound sweet using your car audio equipment?

Really looks cool, glad that you can take it apart to hide when getting out of the car...that would be my big issue. Someone braking into your car and stealing it.

heavy bass would probably rattle the crap out of that ps2

the ps2 imo is garbage build wise anyhow, I've seen so many of em go
I always wondered the life span of a ps2 in a car, it's like hookin a desktop pc in the backseat. Can't be good for the newer systems

nice setup however, you use extensions for the controllers?

Yeah, one extension is long enough to get the controller up through the console and back to the seat. I only use the PS2 until I can figure out how to play DVDs on my XBox in there without going around to the trunk to press play, fast forward, etc. stoopid Microsoft extensions end in s-video cables, not regular connectors, so I can't mount the eye under the dash for its remote. PS2 lets you use the controller.

BTW, there isn't much bass when the PS2 is on, I turn it down some for movies or it'll thump every time someone shuts a door in the movie

the xbox just has that connection to the system for the remote

ps2 had the same deal for the remote until the latest models that have the sensor built in

you can't use the xbox remote and receiver?
