maybe you need to pay attention more!
Anyway, the grill thing is easy (yes I had one at some point, but it came off in my July '03 crash, and I never bothered to replace it) I had mine held on by just the foglights. And I don't like how the middle piece fits. the bumper is too messed up in the back for it to look right, IMO. Look in the bottom corners of Redog's middle grill piece to see what I mean.

I like it. Makes the car look more agressive. Has anyone made an e-manual for the alero that shows the propper way of taking off bumpers, headlights, and all that good stuff?
or am I going to have to shell out the cash?

I used gutterguard on mine. A dremel or tin snips come in handy. I wanted mine at the front of my bumper, and for it to be on real good, so i made a template using cardboard to get the shape with the required angles and curves. once i got this i traced it out on the mesh, then cut around it leaving a 1/2 inch extra to bend backwards with pliers to make a lip that was towards the motor. Slid them in place and screwed them in from behind with a stubby screwdriver. They've been in for 3 years now, and they have lost their shininess so i will be replacing them this spring with some grill i bought that has a flame pattern on it. I may actually just attach the new stuff to the old stuff so it will be on the front of the bumper again.

Maybe no need to paint, I bought and installed black gutterguard mesh.

ya, they have black gutter guard but its plastic. if you wanna attach it from behind you can use the plastic stuff, but if you want it flush with the front of the bumper like i mentioned i did mine, I think you'll need the metal stuff. heres a picture of how mine turned out.

i'm still debating as to wether i should paint mine black or leave it silver. i think rustoleum or that krylon fusion paint w/ some clear coat would be nice.
(i'd clear coat the plain silver mesh anyway, just for some added protection)

if you paint it, it will prolly chip off. If you want it black go with the plastic gutterguard, you can't tell the difference and you won't have to worry about it oxidizing EVER!!!

i described how on the first page, basically the insert looks almost like a sardine can before i slide it in the hole, then i screw it in from behind the bumper. Its a little trickier to do then just putting it behind, but i think it actually looks like part of the car instead of just an insert. And it stays in really good to, i hit a couple snow banks and the mesh bent a bit, but it stayed in, come spring i'll just stick a screwdriver through the mesh and pop out the bends, good as new.
