valve cover heat stakes and timing chain
i was reading some other articles about ecotecs burning oil due to missing heat stakes in the valve cover.
http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1033305
first, what is a heat stake, whats it look like
second, i see it's only for 2004 ecotecs, but would it help anything, or be a good idea to put the new valve cover on older ecotecs (like my 02 ecotec that was replaced in 08).
and one more thing, i have 70xxxkm on my new motor that was replaced in 08. would gm of put an updated ecotec in it to fix the oil pump problem with the timing chain, or should i watch out for that still.
should i check my timing with that many kms on it?
