truth and myth behind delco oil filter?

I have seen so many posts online about delco filters. It drives me nuts. I always figured delco has to be good for our cars oem. But then I see posts saying delco oil filter is just a cheap stp oil filter with a delco sticker. Then I buy one from walmart and one from local auto part store same part number pf52 but the insides look different? I dont get it shouldn't they all look the same? anyone know anything about delco filters who makes them? are there different variations? or why i have 2 different looking pf52? I'd love to know whats truth and whats myth here? searching online has only shown me opinions.

They went to a MUCH cheaper construction as of mid mid last year. I won't use them on my car anymore.

well, I still use AC delco with no issues, although I was given a box of old ones (early 90's PF52's) and they do in fact look different than the new ones inside. the ones i have are white with blue delco lettering instead of the reversed new ones. either way, they still seem to clean my oil well and I have experienced no adverse effects

I think all filters are awesome cause they get rid of the things you don't want... some filters are more awesome than awesome...

I don't use oil filters - too restrictive. Instead, I just tape a few coffee filters (natural fiber-type, of course) across my oil pan. Figure that should eliminate anything worth worrying about and it costs me less than $5 for 100 filters. Ka-CHING!!!!

Look Mobil 1 is the only way to go. Read that data on the bypass in a fram filter. If your oil pressure reaches above a set PSI the fram closes off and all oil is diverted. Not being cleaned. Same with STP and AC Delco. I will look into more data and find you what I read. I use Mobil 1 and and get around 6 to seven thousand out of every oil change. Their is hardly any discoloration between oil changes either. I can not do that with any other oil and filter combo.

I'm trying the K&N oil filter. Don't know how good they are though

The newer Delco filters are an Ecore design and are not recommended for performance applications.
K&N and Mobil 1 are good filters, as is the Wix spin-on.
