Question which gasket kit?

Ok gang. I've been looking for parts online, especially the gasket kit. I need to replace the Lower Intake Manifold gasket, but I've found a few different kits. One is GM, one is a Dorman, and three of them are FEL-PRO. Which kit would you recommend, and what is the difference in the three FEL-PRO sets, besides price? Do I need to buy a bolt kit for it too, and if so, which one, because I've found two different sets. Thanks in advance, everybody!

there is only one kit with the metal lower intake manifold gasket, do not buy anything else. on ebay it will say in the item description that it's the re-designed intake manifold gasket. i bought a head gasket kit for $100

Ok, but what about the kits from Summit Racing or www.carparts.com? I don't mean www.car-parts.com, which is used stuff, I mean "carparts" with no slash in the middle, which is a site like Summit, only with apparently lower prices.

Includes everything you need, even the brown oil pump drive o ring (hi temp) since the stocker will eventually fail, causing an oil leak.

Thank you Ben, and the rest of you kind sirs! So essentially what I need is the gasket kit for a 2005 Equinox that also has a 3400?

^ Just order the one from Bens site. Hes got extra gaskets in there thats handy to replace at the time of doing it anyhow.

The gasket set I bought come from a small parts store, got it for $80 there. Has the LIMG, UIMG, Valve cover gaskets and RTV silicone. The same kit at Advance was almost $110 and was $100 at Autozone.

You should be able to look up your year and it will be the msot expensive set available. They are labeled Fel Pro with "PermaDry"- basically if its not the redesigned metal set dont bother!

She has a good point, because mine is a '99 too, but it has the '99 mani's, not the 2000.

Isn't the only difference the EGR gasket?

96-05 3400 and 2000+ 3100. The only difference are the EGR gaskets and I have both style.

Cool re:

Ok, well thanks for the info, but since the leak isn't that bad right now, I'm not going to deal with it just yet. I have other, more important repairs to take care of, such as the piece of metal that holds the trunk latch in place is all rusted out and is barely there anymore, as well as a fairly rusty exhaust system. It sucks dealing with all of this rust, but, hey, it happens. What I plan on doing, though, is after the new pipes are put on, I want to install enough sheet metal to cover the whole channel that the exhaust system fits into, so that in another five years, I'll be replacing rusted out but cheap sheet metal instead of another expensive exhaust system!

The extra injector O rings from the wot-tech site are more expensive than what NAPA changes. Plus as far as I can tell, the wot-tech site does not haev the bolts either.

Why wouldn't I just want to get the Fel-Pro MS98003T, plus bolt kit from Rock Auto? Or should I get those two plus the Lisle tool from Amazon (not sure if Rock auto has that).
