thats what i got its in a 2.0 sealed box just need help on where to ajust all the knoobs and the alpine xover hz an octane to get the best sound

You can't just tell someone what settings to use. It differs for every car. (even same make and model) Plus it depends on if you like a little rattle to your bass or just good clear bass. I turn my x-over and gain all the way up(or close to all the way) Just experiment and see what sounds good to you.

turn your volume of your cd deck (with the standard settings) to 75% of the max volume the deck can put out.

then adjust the gain on your amp until the sub starts "popin" (soundin crappy)
then turn the gain just back a bit so it doesnt do that anymore...

the crossover, bass boost and other poop should be turned all the way down when you do the step above....

then adjust the cd deck setting to how you like them...

then you probably dont want your sub playin mids and high lvl frequencies so, thats when the crossover comes in...

personally i have my crossover set to low setting on my amp and have the crossover all the way to the highest frequency i think its like 125 or somethin like that

that means my sub plays lower notes in that range....

i hope someone will correct me if im wrong about any of the stuff i just said but im pretty sure im not blowin poop out of my ass so....

thats all i really got...

bass boost is just if you want allittle more bass when you are customizin your cd deck...

The only true way to set them is with a scope, but the next best thing is with a digital multimeter (walmart has one for under ten). Avoid the 3/4 set by ear method. It is very hard to hear clipping in htz under 200. cruisinalero, if you do use this method then leave any bass boost or eq settings on. Many HU's will clip with full bass boost on 20 percent sooner. If your HU clips around the 75 percent range (normal for a decent HU) then boost will place clipping at around 1/2 volume. If you need any further clarification on gains then reply or pm me. I do believe that your amp has gain setting lights that make it easy for you. A very nice addition that should be on all amps.
Hazed. Will you be using crossovers on your amp or your HU. I am not sure if the alpine has crossovers but if so I would use them. If not, then use the amps low pass filter and infrasonic filters. Set the Low pass filter to on and around the range of 100. You may be able to raise it above 100, but I will bet the sub sounds pretty poor on those frequencies. Experiment with the 12 and 24 for the low pass slope. It may sound good either way. Here is a tip, rock music will help for the low pass setting. Rap will be too low of frequencies. Set your infrasonic filter (eliminates very low Htz) to around 30. Much lower and you will be bottoming that woofer out. Place in a rap cd with good low ends. If you hear the sub still bottoming out then turn it up around 40htz on the infrasonic. I would suggest against the bass boost on your amp. If you do use it then leave all bass boost or loudness off on your HU.

thanks, yes mike im going to use the xover from the deck i set it to 50 hz and 4 octanewhat about wiring the sub there listed for 1 ohm load but looks like the amp handles 1.5??

ive tryed to ajust the gain the low ohm lights comes on as it pops and i see my multimeter jumps from number to number

You need to wire the sub in the 1 DVC driver with Voice Coils in Series manor. It sounds like you currently have it in parallel giving a 1 ohm load. The cool thing about that amp is that you get full power in 1.5 ohm to 4 ohm configuration. You shouldn't have to worry about using a Digiat Meter for setting the gains. Your amp has a light indicator for that. Just be sure to set the gains with all HU or amp boosts on and with your HU below the clipping point. My eclipse clipps around 72-74 out of 80. I haven't set your HU but download a 60 htz test tone from sounddomain or eliltecaraudio. Plug in a regular speaker to your amp and decrease all gains to minimum. Increase the HU till you hear the test tone change harmony and record that point. It is the point your HU clipps. Now turn on your HU bass boost or eq and do the same thing. You will see a conciderable drop in volume prior to clipping. That is the point I set my gains for.

ok problem i rewired the amp or i mean the speakers in seires and now having the amp cut out in low level.the bass goes and then comes back. i looked at the amp and the light is still on green light no other light comes on

Do you have 1 or 2 subs?

Are you sure it is wired in series? Even if you have two subs, it would result in a 8 ohm load and would not send the amp to protection. Only by wiring parallel will you do this. My concern is that you only have the green light on. The JL has a protection light that comes on when low loads are reached. I believe it is red. If you are only seeing a green light then something else is happening. Is your gain light coming on when you loose bass. My amp shuts off if the input voltage clips. It shuts down all volume and keeps a green light with no other indications. Lower your gain and see. There is a switch on that amp for high or low input voltage. What one do you have it set for?
