View Full Version : Rear trunk deck vibrations

I've searched the forums and was unable to come up with a similar problem; this is not the typical trunk lid vibration I am experiencing. The surface where my rear speakers mount vibrates making an awful resonance on the interior of my car. This is unbearable. The speakers themselves are fine. I can prevent the noise simply by applying pressure to the top of the deck. It occurs at very low volumes and fades as volume increases, only because the interior sound levels overpower the resonance. I have the 200 watt Monsoon audio system if that is of any help.

Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience, and if so, what they did to fix it.

Lol, I'm working on the system.

Under the deck lid there seems to be some soft foam of sort, I guess it's for insulation/sound dampening from the factory. If I get a chance I'll take it apart and see what works. Silicone definitly sounds like a possibility. If not then maybe some type of shim or something to prevent the vibrations.

Thanks.
