I was leaving from one of my friends houses this morning. and like we got a sno ice storm last night, so i start up my car to let it warm up while i go scrape the windows and stuff. then like i get into my car close the door and put on my seat belt and the damn metra things still going off. so i look at my dash theres no warning lights. so i turn off my car and the bloody things still goin off. like i take out the keys close the door and its still goin off. so i have to drive home with the damn thing beeping(like 15min drive) i almost went crazy. so i get home and disconect my bat and reconect it and the things fine now??. anyone got an answer that might help me out. it seemed kinda sketchy to me.

oh yah i got a audiobahn 1100N receiver, with the metra GMRC-01 adapter. and a 10 MTX pioneer amp( thank god that stuff worked fine and overpowered teh beep) so yah electricians and people that know there sutff man help me out!!!

sounds like there could be a problem within the metra itself...maybe its not responding well to the cold weather or maybe its just faulty.

Quoted post

it does this when you start the car w/ the door open (atleast for me)

what I do is close the door turn the lights on turn the car off open the door(then you should have a different beep for the lights)

after that just turn the lights off and go about your business

I don't use the metra, so I don't know the wire diagram. Your problems sounds like the relay is staying latched. It could either be a poor relay or your source switching the relay. most likely it has to do with your source. If you have a wire diagram could you email it to me or post it on here. Mikegett@msn.com is my home account. I have high speed so don't worry about size. Have you ever opened the metra up? Is there a cicuit board containing the relays or is simply a box of relays? Due to its simplicity, I would think the later would apply.

metra is the maker of wiring harnesses and the thing to keep your chimes on the newer models
