well ok so some of you may have read i was getting a new engine put in my 99 alero. but what i failed to mention is what happened. went to the local rapid lube here in town and what should have been a simple job for them they screwed up bad,,didnt tighten the drain plug so on the way home "pop" there goes the motor. so after fighting with them for 3 days they agree to replace the motor,,that was 35 days ago today,,here is the poopty part,,finally get a call saying the engine is in and running but they have bad news,,someone broke into the shop last night and broke into my car along with 4 other cars,,as far as i can tell they didnt steal anything but i have to get the window replaced. and above that the mechanic said that when the motor blew it through a rod and lodged it between the block and the transmission and the transmission isnt acting right,,sorry if this was boring but i needed to vent. i just want my damn car back!!!!!!

if the tranny is messed up do to the engine coming apart, then the lube place should be responsible.

damn. did you sign a waiver saying that the shop is not responsible for your property left there? if you didnt then i think they should pay for it. i know i always have to sign something like that when leaving my car over night.

anything caused by them screwing up the motor is their responsibility...anything that happens when that car is on their property and under their care is their problem. let them know that you will be seeing a lawyer if the problems aren't fixed to your satisfaction. I also surely hope they are providing you with a rental car or alternate transportation during this whole ordeal because they are required to.

at least your getting a new motor and maybe a new tranny... i guess thats a perk outta the whole problem.
i guess you just get to order more mods and stock pile them while you wait...

They should pay for everything...but I agree with them on the tint, though. Odds are, the tint you had was/is illegal and if the place has an inspection license then they can't install illegal equipment without getting that license revoked (if caught)
*I don't know the laws in TN, but that's how it is here in NY.

sounds like an awesome place to get some stuff replaced in your car. haha (sarcasm people) But I think you should talk to a lawyer about the situation sinse you are having problems with them... honestly, if they are that bad, that business shouldn't be running... but that's just my opinion... Hope everything goes well...
I could bring my car there and hope they break the back window so I can get a new reardefroster put in along with a new window. haha my reardefrost is currently not working...
