Once it started getting cold out i noticed that my alero was waiting longer to shift gears, like I'd get up to like 55 and i'd have to wait for a couple miles and then it would just shift into gear, and be fine from there on out. My guess is that its just warming up all the fluids and then its fine. but just checking to make sure nothings wrong.

on a side note what do most of u with 3.4 get RPM wise at these constant MPH?
25- IDK myslelf
35-IDK
45- 1200-1300 RPM
55-1500-1600 RPM once engines warmed up, till its warmed up its like 2200RPM

thanx

It's normal. The torque converter clutch will not lock up until the transmission oil reaches a certaion temperature (the exact figure escapes me at the moment).

yeah its like its helping itself warm up.

but i think one thing about my car, is lately its taking its time on shifts.

even when its warmed up, it takes like 2-3 seconds to shift gears, like its taking its time....

but its winter, and im giving my car less and less gas, almost no throttle when im going. but when i give it heavy or a decent amount of throttle this never happens, it just happens when im "taking it easy"

byt the way this never happened before
