Um... don't remove it unless you want to ruin your car. Get some 1/4-inch black pinstriping from O'reilley's or Autozone and just cover it up. Lots of people have done this with good results.

You can't remove it, and for g-ds sake, dont' put vinyl over it. Take it to a body shop and have it painted.

You can remove it (if you take off some trim on the inside there is a couple small bolts I believe that need to come out and then I think the rest just pops into place), but it is going to look terrible, do what johnny_boy said will look way better!

You honestly, don't even have to take it to a body shop. Go get yourself some 360 sandpaper, masking tape, newspaper and some TRIM BLACK paint(can be found at most autoparts stores. i know Oreilly's carries it). Put the tape around the outside and inside edge of the trim and anything else you want to paint and lightly scuff it with the 360. Its important you use 360 or lighter. Anything else will leave scratch marks. Then wipe it off with a dry paper towel and tape up the newpaper so you don't get any overspray and go to town. Trim black is kind of like flat black but still has a little shine to it.

What the f***ing hell is so wrong with a semi-permanent mod?? Such a tiny thing like this, it's is not going to peel or collect dirt, and it's removable.

thanks man, i thought so too, i got sick of the chrome around the window when nothing else on my car was chrome. I got my mirrors, spoiler, and the chrome ring painted all for under $65.
