Kick ass pic Red. That stance and angle makes the Alero look mean.

Huh?

Unlike some tracks and states that might not care, NJ insurance laws require that everyone who races, regardless of class, sport, and speed, wear a helmet. NHRA-sanctioned points races also require a helmet on all racers going quicker than 15 seconds regardless of the state, and all racers regardless of ET in states like NJ where insurance laws dictate tighter restrictions. If you take your helmet off at Raceway Park or ATCO while you're still racing down the strip & you'll get thrown out of the facility immediately.

Plus, not wearing a helmet is just reckless IMO. As a former track official & NHRA National Event employee I've seen folks get killed and many more seriously injured in all types of track accidents. Even those with minor accidents were able to walk away because they wore a helmet. You roll a car at 80+ mph because of a blown tire or some other reason, you're not going to remain conscious for long without proper headgear. All of the safety equipment that IHRA, NHRA, SCCA, and NASCAR require is for a reason - driver safety. I have no respect for anyone who doesn't adhere to the safety requirements just because they don't want to bother, don't think it's cool, or are too cheap to invest in the proper equipment. As it is, my old race helmet is starting to wear out on the inside where the padding is so I have to now shop for a replacement helmet. It'll cost me at a time when I really don't have a lot of spare cash to spend but it'll be worth it in the log run.
