There's a how to guide in the how to section. I know one is only for the 3.4 though, and I'm sure the other isn't for the ecotec either...In all, I think most ecotec owners bought theirs.

has anyone built a custom CAI for the eco? That'd be useful information to have.

[FONT=Times]That 2.2L CAI by RKSPort will bolt on to the 2.2L 5-speed engine in my Alero right?

yes, the CAI for the 2.2L sunfire/cavalier will fit the alero

I'm gonna get a CAI pretty soon too. AEM makes a short ram and cold air for the sunfire. Not sure if it's fitted for n-body alero, but my guess is that it works (?)

rksport has a CAI, but judging from some members comments, I'd suggest an induction dynamics CAI.

I made my custom ghetto cai on my alero last year (http://pages.infinit.net/michelra/images/alero/intake001.jpg)
It's so basic but I got good result! B)

Why can't you just order the AEM short ram or cold air for the sunfire or cav 2.2?

you can, I was providing other options
the_Skol, there's a lot of bends in that CAI, but props for the work

If it doesn't say it's for the Ecotec, it's for the other 2.2L motor thats in the Cavalier
You made that Intake yourself? It doesn't look bad.

Random Technologies gave me some three inchpiping and i custom made one for my car. It sits right behind the headlight butmy battery is relocated to the trunk.
The only other way i know of making is using teh stock rubber elbows mand some piping from like a civic intake

whoops, must have missed this (march 2  )
You could mix and match what you like (of course it needs to all work together though). Here's the part list for the ID CAI:
1 K&N Conical Filter charger (with a 2.5” hose clamp)
1 ½” OD Hose for crankcase
1 90 Degree Nitrile Elbow with a colour adapter
1 Straight 3” Silicone Coupling
1 3” to 2.5” Silicone Reducing Coupling
5 3” hose clamp
3 2.5” hose clamp
1 3” OD Piece of tubing (J-shaped with a rubber grommet and 2
fittings)
1 3” OD Piece of tubing (90-degree)
1 2.5” OD Piece of tubing (S-shaped)
1 45” degree rubber coupling adapter
2 Mini clamps (one is included on the hose)
1 Thin hose for connecting the fuel pressure regulator to the intake

I dont know if you folks are aware of the massive amount of performance parts avail for the ecotec..... check out jbodyperformance.com and mantapart.com, many of the same parts on our cars can be taken from the j-bodies...just a lil bit of help. they have CAI for the eco on jbodyperformance

well i was looking through the jbodyperformance.. im planning to get the WAI (since I do not have enough money for now.. i still have to get lowering springs).. I went to "checkout" but there is no year for 03. there is only for 87 to 94.. what to do?
*EDIT* hmm come to think of it.. i think i would rather have the CAI than WAI.. maybe I'll make it myself?
