It's very slow but consistant as hell.

No lie my avg today was 20 seconds, which really sucks since the hihgest dial for the series is 19.99.

I "Deep" staged today too to try to get better times. My best time was 19.998 @ 66.14 MPH. My worst was 20.50 @ 64.

My best runs were done in overdrive, not drive. Burnouts are not neccessary since I don't have much toqure.

I already did a new fuel filter and a K&N filter before racing. The old fuel filter was totally black, and fell apart in my mech's hand. The air filter was dirty so I replaced it with a K&N because it was only $45 and a stock replacement was $25 and I won't be replace the engine before a OEM would have to be changed.

I bought on JEGS today, after racing, a K&N X-Stream flow GM replacement top for the air fitler. I was going to buy the entire kit, but I have all that emissions crap and a vaccumm hose from the air cleaner to the vavle cover, so I can't do that just yet.

I did get a reward card from work, and I did the whole internet stuff for it today, so I'm getting a $100 gift card to Pep Boys soon. I will be buying a Flowmaster with that. Can't figure out what size yet. Maybe 3". I'm going to buy some tubing on JEGS for $13 for a 4' section, 2 should do it. The exhasut I don't mind too much since the new motor will use the same exhaust.

Wheels will def be "Welds" but as long as I'm under 19.5, I'm happy, for now ;)

Your 1st mistake was deep staging to get better times. Deep staging actually slows down your times since you start that much closer to the finish line and therefore don't get as much of a running start before you break the starting beams. Deep staging only helps with RT's. The differences are marginal but noticeable.

I'd suggest trying to stage as shallow as possible and then gunning it the moment the 3rd amber comes on.

It's a heavy car and not geared (in trans or rear) for performance. You might want to have B&M Tranpak shift kit installed in the trans to promote quicker & stronger shifts with the automatic. I had that installed in the Camaro (race weight w/ driver: 3,850 lbs.). It'll make the car go a little quicker plus it's better for the long-term health of the trans than the current set-up as it will shift into the next gear the moment the correct amount of pressure is reached, whereas regular automatics reach that pressure and then slowly glide into the next gear. That keeps the pressure on the trans longer which isn't as healthy, but manufacturers set up their cars like that purposefully because they figure their customers prefer smoother rides. On stock vehicles the pressure isn't enough to really be that concerned about things wearing out and breaking (although it does happen). It becomes more critical once you begin modding or replacing the engine. The more power the trans needs to handle the more critical it is for the trans to be able to immediately switch gears without lingering at the top of the previous gear.

Might want to put that car on a diet. I think you said you wanted a cruiser though, you might not want to do that.
