I am about to get a 15" JL audio W3 sub and was wondering if a 250 watt JL amp will be able to support the sub?? What do you think???

well whats the wattage on the sub...rms and peak.

i mean the 250 watt amp will power the sub but it wont be up to where it could be. you'll just be under-powering it mostlikely. depends on what the wattage rating is on that sub

From the jl website they say 250watts is the absolute min, and about 500watts is the optimum and anything around 1000 is way too much. So I say get 500 and you should be in good shape.

is it a w3, w3v2 or a w3v3? it would seem like you would need more juice if it were iether of the last 2

Yeah, now that I think of it, (this is my perspective) if you don't want deep bass, then don't get the 15 inch, get a 10, but if you got a w3 15, then definatley add more juice, get a 850w amp or something around that range. It should hit perfect for just one sub......1500W for 2....
