Ok so i was looking into getting a new deck and i wanted to see what people thought about this style of deck. Is it a good idea or just a waste of money?

well, that's the point now, isn't it. "between" is a really big variable.
$400, I'd buy it. $1,500 waste of money.

i was thinking about getting one of the pioneer ones. dvd, gps, all sorts of diagnostics for your car. its like 2k.
instead i decided to keep going to school...
personally, i don't spend enough time in my car to justify it but if you drive alot, or have kids... get one!

Search on e-bay for Innovatek...i have a dvd player and a screen from them...they're seperate but seem to be very good products and are also very very cheap. They also sell units that are all i none like the one you posted above

That one looks cool, i wouldn't spend too much on a deck though. I spent around 500$ for mine, and it doesn't have a monitor. Its a kenwood KDC 8899. I can put a monitor to it, but im just keepin it for a soon-to-be soundsystem.
