View Full Version : Custom Tail Lights

Howdy poeple. I just recieved a pair of custom tails that were made by another member on the sight. I was not thrilled at the workmanship or apperance of them. They look OK. I know alot of you out there would be interested in new tails if they were better quality. I just started to construct my own style. After I work out the kinks they will be going on sale for everyone to buy. Trust me, these are gonna look mint. You will all finally have another option to buy custom tail lights. A little freindly competition never hurt anyone. they should be done in a few days.

a little competition is awesome...keeps people honest.
Theres a guy on the 350z board i belong to that just started competed with another and it's become a big ass deal with the original seller getting really pissed off and it has been rediculous...i hope that doens't happen here because competition is great.

i can vouch for him in the arguement that people have to realize the time it takes to make things... not to mention the expense they put into it to create it... time is money and if you aren't handy enough to create them for yourselves you have to buy them... nice work dude... i dont know how much time that took or whatever... but when i make things for people i just charge them an hourly wage + materials... i'd imagine you'd be doing the same thing... although to stay competitive i wouldn't be greedy... *(not saying you are)*... anyway... good looking stuff... :thumb:

That price is not much better than what Anderbra has been offering for years, and they don't look much diff :( . $300 CAD without cores incl shipping might fly...might. That aside though you did a real nice job, I might just make my own too if it only takes a few days like yours did.
johny_boy32
03-18-2006, 08:09 PM
they look awesome wrightie, I owned the first set of anderbra clear tail lights and I loved them. I had them on my car before I opted to change the direction of my car. Knowing what I know, the price is fair for a non-exsistant add-on for a car like yours. I got pulled over by random people all the time asking where i got them, how much, and how they can get there hands on some. I've never seen another alero with "altered" tail lights to this date and i probably never will.
I'll refer back to that old addage; "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"
those are sick wrightie. good job once again. sik :alcoholic:

Are you thinking about doing some Altezza style ones, or some led ones? Should try offering something different from Anders
Menace
03-18-2006, 09:26 PM
I think they came out pretty damn good. You can tell the difference then the anembra clear tails.
wrightie
03-19-2006, 12:28 AM
I was a little surprised by cyber knights coment that they dont look much different. Dood my lights arnt covered by a bicycle innner tube. It is proffesionally trimmed and the fitment is perfect. I have a set of the OTHER tails and they dont come close to the fit or look of mine. I am not bothered if you buy them or not. But trust me on this, people will when they start to hear about the difference in quality from the others available.

Actually that's a requirement of FMVSS 108 so it's a federal requirement in the US. IF you left the red reflectors there it would be fine. Or i guess you could put some on in another place. (kinda like how the RX330 lexus has them down low)

you are looking at about 400. And that is only if I can get a deal on the original set. They are expensive to buy. I could mod poeples existing lights but they would be without for a couple of weeks.
I probably could do the Led's. Send me some pics of styles that appeal to ya, and I can mimic them.

I might possibly be able to do that actually.... Just let me know how much and if you will be able to do LEDs or not.. cause that's really what I want.
