Spark Plug Wires

Does anybody know where I could get the best deal on performance spark plug wires for the 2.4L alero? I have an 01...... Thanks

there arent any spark plug wires on the 2.4. its IDI - integrated direct ignition. the coils site right above the plugs. each plug has a rubber boot with a little spring inside to transfer the spark energy. they're underneath the cover that says "2.4L Twin Cam"

fact: if you want spark plug wires it'll cost you more than $100 new to set it up.

Do the plugs too....it doesnt hurt and doesnt cost much then you wont have to keep track of two service times

So in order for me to get "spark plug wires" I have to redo it? :huh: I sorta confused here. I want to get better ignition because i'm ordering NGK irdium spark plugs this week, and before I installed them I wanted to get better plugs or coils. If im wrong what do i need then? Sorry, i'm sorta stubborn when it comes to this kinda stuff :blush: :Noooo:

Ok, the setup you are used to is a distributer setup...

We dont have a distributor, so the spark to ignite the combustion stroke of the engine through the spark plug is in this order

Coil-Boot(same concept as a wire but much shorter and not flexible)- Plug

no no...its not a coil-boot plug you can get, thats the way they're all connected....ignition coil - spark plug boot - spark plug. i know RKsport offers new boots or at least boot inserts with lower resistance springs...dont know how well they work but you could always try. then you could upgrade spark plugs, which i see from your other post you're doing that anyway. upgrading the coil isnt just "buy a new one and plug it in". if you're going with just the bolt on mods without getting into P&P, cams, or anything internal, you really wont need upgraded coils...the stock coils, coupled with new plugs, will provide adequate spark for your minor upgrades.
