Stock Hu

I have the stock hu...but aftmkt speaks (4ohm). My stock hu worked for 1/2 year with aftmkt speaks, and now it cuts out after a few seconds of play (if I wait, I get a repeatting pattern of a few seconds of play and then out goes the radio (or CD)). Im thinking its because (A) the stock HU sucks at life, and (B) the newer speakers have a lower resistence and the stock (sucking at life) couldn't handle that over time. Or perhaps some connection is loose. What do you all think? (no monsoon sys here)

just buy an aftermarket head unit save yourself the troubles

i have one for sale for 40$ and shipping, if it comes to you needed another one (mine is from an 03 with monsoon system)

But i agree with scsralero just buy a new aftermarket hu :thumb:

Yea I was planned on aftermarket, but I can't afford what I want at the moment. Just trying to make sure its the HU and not a bad connection.

it could be, my rear speakers would cut out or sound poopty, the wires were loose and when the bass hit they would "disconnect" and stop puttin out sound. I cut the wires and ran new ones............. they work great now.
