I've been back and forth several times over weather or not to get subs because i know the money involved and i'm not going for earbleeding bass. but i saw this deal and was wondering if it would be worth it.

I'd check the classifieds sections on here, elitecaraudio.com, caraudioforums.com, sounddomain.com and icixsound.com - you could put together a much better setup than that for $350. I've heard some awesome things about the new JL w3v3 subs too - might check into them, I believe they were recently released.
Anyways, my two cents,

If you want a nice sounding system get som kicker comps. and a rockford fosgate punch amp. it sounds really nice.

i don't think that the JL audio would be good for him as he wants not that much bass.......

I'm talking about the w3, not the w7 - w3 has excellent reproduction and can get fairly loud if you want to - but a single 10w3v3 or 12w3v3 (they're only rated for about 300W) sealed would be very, very nice.
Other good options would be something like the Oz Vector, SS RL-p, Dynaudio MW, ID IDX or IDQ, SI (stereo integrity)... can't remember their SQ line model.
