i would talk to kyle "-Alero-".
the biggest thing is just keeping the poop clean. you could eat off of his engine if you wanted to.
he has some tasteful wire loom, but other than that, it's just clean, and it looks really nice. my favorite engine bay by far, even before we attempted to polish a few things.
so i say get some wireloom, pick a color scheme and stick with it. kyle might have a LITTLE too much yellow, but other than that it's clean.

What do people use to clean it?

When I was doing it back in the day we just used to use a genaral purpose cleaner like armoral makes or whoever you happen to find and a paint brush. Basically you just spray the heck out of it with the cleaner and then follow around with the paint brush to loosen up the dirt and get in those little spots and then spray it off...we used hot water, but regular water works just the same

I thought it was bad to spray your engine with water.

na, its not bad to do it..just don't freaking leave it on there heavy spray for a long time...maybe leave your engine run for awhile too..i mean think about it, the things gets wet driving through a storm...

i wouldn't think it would be, as long as you cover your air intake..... shouldn't be any problems at all

I'm starting to dress up the bay more with new loom, and I just repainted the manifold.
I left it on the engine this time. A little overspray, but not much at all.

yeah, just don't spray the heck out of it...i mean put your sprayer nozzle on the mist deal and not the direct stream that can take your skin off and you'll be fine.

and while doing this, we should stay a little clear of the battery correct?

it might be wise, but we never had any issues with batteries

i shouldn't worry about the coil packs if i have the 2.4 correct?
and should i just cover the alternator with like a bag or something?

what i did was take it to a car wash, set the pressure washer on engine cleaner, spray away all around the engine and then rinsed it but i made sure the pressure washer was like 3 feet away from the engine so i dont have so much pressure hitting the engine ^_^
worked like a charm

ANd where would these be located, im cleaning mine this weekend, and would like to know where all of this is.................
What did you use to cover them, a friend said plastic bags, rubber bands, and duct tape (only on bag to hold it on)
the answer would be anything (that covers it up)
probably best not to use your kid sister, so a bag should do fine

Dont put a high pressure stream on it and keep ur engine running. and DEFINITELY dont spray the alternator, it will get inside and mess up the wiring that causes the magnetic field and f*ck it up royally, usually at a car wash they have a engine cleaner setting..just keep ur engine running so its up to proper temp and spray it down, works great ive done it plenty of times. As for dressin up ur engine they sell colored hoses n such, just get the rite size and put em on.

As for engine covers mostly everyone u see that has them, well actually all of them have painted them theirselves. Theres a do it yourself topic on it I think, Ive been thinkin bout doin it but ehh aint got time with school and work.
