i heard of people doing wai with cai setup.
is this true?
if so, how do u do it for the alero(ecotec)?

I think there is a company in Sport Compact Car that has a "y" pipe type thing that you could do that with. I think it was $40

Go and buy a CAI and don't install the tubing that goes down in front of the wheel well. Then you've got a WAI instead of your CAI. I don't know why you'd want to do this though.
if you want a wai, just yank out the old airbox except for the foot of tubing coming from the tb, then just stick a filter on it. i'd go with a cai though

I think he just wants the polished nice look of the CAI tubes but with the filter still up in the engine compartment???

maybe he doesn't want the CAI in the winter because of the problem some people are having with salt, and wants to be safe.

He may be trying to keep the filter in the engine bay but have some sort of pipe off the end of the filter and so he's getting colder air to the filter, but have the filter still up in the engine bay (protected from water)
