Underbody

I am thinking about trying to make a cathode underbody for my alero, has anyone tried this? I was wondering how many inches of light i would need to buy so i don't have any dead spots. If someone has a regular neon underbody, how many inches of tube do you have and does it have any dead spots? Pics would also help if you have them for any underbody on the alero.

I have a Goldseries Neo Blue. Its 2 48" and 2 36" it has some dead spots in front on the rear wheels, but i wouldnt try cathodes, theyre pretty brittle, and mouting underbodies on a GM car is a b**** bcause or the fuel lines

i agree that cathodes are too brittle, unless you figure out a way to protect them. might be better for eliminating dead spots tho. good luck.

Is there some type of clear tubing like a pvc pipe that i might be able to put them in? Str33t did you put your kit on yourself to know it was hard to mount? I didn't really want to spend a ton of money on a true UB kit thats why i was willing to try cathodes.

i have put 2 sets on and the hardest part is the drivers side, due to the fuel lines.

As posted above is exactly true. I mounted the front behind the radiator, left and right beside the rocker pannel and rear is obvious, it looks really nice. The picture above is WRONG do not mount it in front of the rad youl break it with ease

i see some guy make his own with leds, and plastic tubing, it looked good too.

ill be using that concept to make my own wheel well kit with LED's. underglows would be a little harder to do sicne you have to make sure you get the whole thing protected by water and not to mention the crap that would hit them. i have it all planned out for my wheel wells ^_^ just waiting for the LED's to get here and ill have them installed in about 2 weeks or so

I installed my own when I had them and I didn't find them all that difficult to install, really just time consuming more than anything. I used the plastic brackets that came with the kit for the front and sides and for the rear I ended up using zip ties to attach the tube to the underside of the rear bumper...I think that's what most people have done. The only thing with the sides was that you could see the tubes. I'd mount them higher up if I did it again so you couldn't see them, but then the fuel lines would be in the way on the drivers side like everyone else has said.
