Before you can lay that claim, we need proof. Please submit the following to me and the Aleromod Admins:
- 2 copies of the timeslip from that run
- 2 video recordings of the run - 1 taken of the driver's side of the vehicle and 1 from either the rear or right side
- Signed witness affidavits from 2 track officials or 1 official and 1 manager/owner
- 1 pint of your blood
- a subscription to Sex Pigs and/or Nugget magazines
- 4 tickets to the Celtic Frost concert at BB King's in NYC in September
- And Angelina Jolie's home phone number
:P

^^ HA HA
But we do need slips.
Also you can make that claim anyway, we have one or two true haters on the page that will doubt every run faster than they run, and they are running 16's

I'm not done yet. :)
Have HPTuners send me a software update so I dont' hit the speed limiter at 1000ft, when I shouldn't have one at all.
start hitting 1.8 60fts
there's still time on the dyno.
Getting a tune that's past 13lbs of boost (along w/ the obligatory headgasket and ARP bolts)
I'm working on a new intake manifold and throttle body setup (i'm running a 52mm throttle body and 2.3HO intake manifold)
remove the 440cc injectors and replace with 750cc replacements
I think you're starting to see the picture I'm painting here :)
V6 guys have their work cut out for them..
And don't forget if someone with an ecotec gets any bright ideas, we're all screwed.

Not worried about anyone with an ecotec getting any bright ideas....GM pretty much spilled most of the bright ideas in the tuner guide. I'm worried about someone with an ecotec getting the money and motivation to do it :)

^ i never heard of how ecotecs can be.....
spy kickass job dude!

ecotec's CAN be about 600-1000 hp, but I'm sure it's gonna take LOADS of money to do it. GM boasts the ecotec pushed 600hp using 85% stock parts (plus a wicked turbo system).
But nevermind that, I'm just proud that somebody pushed an N-body into the 12's :)

I believe they got it up to about 1400 horsepower actually. That must be a TON of boost. Things start breaking around 280 HP though.

Very nice times! As for anyone wondering about the Ecotec....there's a guy on Jbody.org with a built turbo Ecotec cavalier....he runs high 11's and it's daily driven.

yeah, the ecotecs love boost, out of the three engines in our cars the eco would probably gain the most power if you had the same amount of boost on all three, but dont quote me on that one, and from what i have been told they hold up to good amounts of psi with alot of stock parts, so basically an eco despite what people think, can basically have some major balls
63starfire
05-23-2006, 06:20 PM
Its kind of ironic...the ecotec initially got its name because it was intended for great fuel economy (which it gets) and normally fuel economy + performance aren't really on the same plane...kudos to GM for building a great engine
