I'm curious who on here has installed a shaved door kit on their own. I'm want to know what troubles you ran into and what was the final location of the cable that goes through the latch mechanism and the location of your solenoid?

only big problem i had was placement of the passenger side solenoid so it was out of the way of the door panel, i just made a plate that went across the door behind the metal piece in the middle that the handle(the handle u use to close the door) screws to.

the drivers side there was enough room to mount it very near the center without a plate.

i attached the cable to the handle rod on both the drivers and passengers.

thanks for the info sound extreme....

alero under construction - I have done everything that is on the car myself so far. I have not finished blending in the bodykit, but as soon as I do I will be painting it myself as well. I plan on doing everything to this car myself. If I can't oh well, but it is my goal to complete the car with my own two hands and the knowledge of people on boards like this one.

sound extreme - I understand the mechanical portion of the shaved door kit, but the valet box and all the wiring is confusing the crap out of me, I might as well be reading a foreign language. How did you hook up all the wiring?

well ive done it 2 ways. one with the stock remote, which kind of sucked. i'll try to make you a diagram in a bit for the other way i did it.

here ya go, this is setup so the Lock button opens the drivers door and the unlock opens the passengers. originally the manufacturer said to use the unlock and aux buttons because it was a bit easier, but i wanted to use the aux for the trunk so i could just get rid of the stock remote. This MAY not work good if you're using an alarm depending on how your alarm is setup.
