Installed my intrax and kyb's today, all is good but, when sitting still and turning the springs are making a tong noise, the noise is consistant when moving the steering back and forth about 90 degrees, has anybody else had this problem? do the springs need to settle? the springs are set properly and the spring pads are in place.

and my strut tower braces rattle like hell!

umm...... make sure everything is tight. i cant stress this enuff. and no im not bein an asshole with i say this..... ive worked on numerous aleros with soundxtreme.. and we have forgotten to tighten stuff numerous times.

it sounds like in ur case the spring isnt seated properly on the bearing plate..... did u do the job urself????? if i were u id jsut take it all apart and reinstall it again..... and take ur time to make sure everything is snug.

but something is most likely jsut not seated properly.

/\ /\ Not necessarily sweet. I used air tools to take mine all apart, but didn't use any to put it back together. The best option is to have a good "click-type" torque wrench, and put everything back to exactly where it's supposed to be. Option two is use air tools and tighten those bitches down.

And then about a week or so after I did it, I rechecked every nut and bolt again with the torque wrench. Same as I do with my wheels.

I'm a career diesel mechanic so tools arn't the problem, it just seems to be the one on the drivers side, I'll change out the nuts tomarrow at work and see if that helps, if not i'll have to wait till next weekend and pull them back out.

did you shim you front struts, the factory struts had a strange nut on them that had what would equal a spacer attached to them.

try having someone turn the wheel back and forth while someone else is lookin at the springs themselves...... if u see the spring moving itself...... not along with the strut..... its not seated correctly up top. or ur bearing plates might be shot too.

Mine also made a popping noise when they were installed, just for the first week. The guy told me that was normal. Is that not the case?

Everything seems fine now.
