So i was watching pimp my ride a while ago and they put all digital gauges in a car. like speedometer rpms all that stuff. has anyone ever thought about that for aleros? like could u take the whole council out and with a little fabrication insert digital speed and rpm gauges? maybe find a car that comes stock with digital guages and fit them in? is that at all possible or do they require differnt kinds of sensors and stuff?

as i type this dakota digital gauges are doing mine right now
everything will be digital, and will come back to me as i gave it to them
meaning.......it will be a plug and play deal
this is costing me 1,000, not cheap but well worth it

ppgnut, Are these what you're getting installed?

They look pretty sweet.. what I think would be even more sweet (along with more costly, if even possible) is to get a dvd quality screen in place of the gauges and have some soft of software that can display custom gauges (digital or analog) and switch to a GPS similar to how this Cadillac Concept does:

Obviously, that's talking big $$$. but just a thought. Please post pics of yours when it's done.

actually, most gps software can determine your speed, so i don't think it would be that hard. maybe have a carputer with the software written up. sounds like a fun project.

If you can mount a screen there, I don't think it would be too hard to get something like AutoTap and use it for all your gauges, GPS, or even be able to park somewhere and watch a DVD :).

Those look sweet! Until I saw the pics I didn't know what the hell you were talking about...I was picturing digital as in like digital watch...you know with numbers showing instead of guages like in early '90's lincolns ha ha!

It will probably big money if those guages break or lights go out
