I just wanted to get a list of maybe the top ten fastest aleros on this site. As in posting your slips at the track or dyno results.

1. Springs
2. Fuller
3. Everyone else with a 3.4, headers, exhaust, and CAI
4. Everyone else with a 3.4, exhaust, and CAI
5. Everyone else with a stock 3.4
etc etc etc etc

:D i qualify for #4... ...lol, probably not, never timed my car with the CAI and exhaust but i have a general idea where it would be

oh yeha, and anyone with nitrous will be up there too.

:wah: I dont even make the list (2.2L ecotec with nothing modded in terms of performance)
Edit: just bein a smartass here, frankly I have decided its not worth the money for any big performance parts, save that for something better down the road (cough 05 mustang GT cough)

sorry, i got bored of typing out the list.
It's not that hard to figure out. The ppl who sunk in the most money into the engine have the fastest cars.

Um I've beaten stock 3.4 with only a CAI and catback exhaust. So I guess the 2.4 with CAI can exhaust would be like 4 1/2

i've beaten stock 3400 too.
ski is actually #2
springs
ski
fuller

One of my friends said it best, its not necessarily how fast your car is, but how well you drive it..... (meaning if I have a basic 2.2L and you have a basic 3400... if I know how to race better than you, good chance I can beat you)

God, why do you guys always go and jack up the threads, I wanted real statistics and numbers.
Sweetalero99, no poop i'm not on the list, i don't know why you said that. I just wanted to see who had what and how much power it made for them. ex. different s/c kits, custom turbo kits, Nitrous or N/A. Just trying to get a glimpse of the high numbers and see if any of their setups are different.
Is that so hard?

I think this might be a bad time of year for this thread considering the weather really hasnt broken for most of us yet...yet alone have many tracks opened up yet... give this thread maybe a month and a half and then hopefully people will have had a chance to recently gotten to the track....
Skiboarder311
03-01-2004, 09:08 AM
Yeah, after everyone posted last years numbers.
I was #2 my fastest was a 14.7 quarter.
And i have added some engine mods and a better nitrous kit, so i expect to be in the lower 14's this year :D
sc/alero
03-01-2004, 09:31 AM
i believe it would go
1. springs
2. sc/alero
3. ski
4. fuller
and that depends on any new mods people have done. both john and i are at 14.6's at 5280ft so not sure where that would put us down at sea levels

well, in all honesty, this is a LAME THREAD TOPIC. Everyone is going to think their car is faster than someone elses. No one jacked it, we are trying to figure it out.

Bring this up in another month or two and Im sure youll get better results. Lots of projects underway, but I dont think the list will change a whole lot.

I'm not gonna start a flame war over the internet. This thread may have been started a few weeks to early but thats all.
Heres what i see.
Username------------------------ Times------------------------------
Springs Fastest Alero- S/C NOS
S/C Alero- S/C
Nguyen- turbo'd
Skiboarder- N/A
mFuller- N/A
probably forgot a few, but i wanted to compare the track times from the s/c, turbo and n/a.
Naich
03-01-2004, 11:19 AM
Everyones times are going to be different because both Springs and S/CAlero are at 3/4 mile of elevation. The only way to really determine who has the fastest aleros would to be to get them all together with the same track conditions. That's it. Plus I don't even know if Nguyen has ever timed his... but if his turbo is working, he would be close to the s/c'd guys. Homegrown is also S/C'd.

I got the European computer so I think that will make me faster than most of you!
Otherwise it's a stock 3400.

fastest slip to date
July 18 2003
pmi in pueblo
4900 feet above sea level
rt: .369 (000 being perfict)
60': 2.409
330: 6.328
1/8: 9.524
mph: 77.99
1000: 12.273
1/4: 14.620
mph: 95.25
this was with 260 whp and 262wtq (sea level corrected power)
now running 272 whp and 299.4 wtq on my nitrous
given good traction the car will be quite a bit faster
time slips will be up as soon as the track opens for the season

How much NX u runnin springs?? 100 shot?
And i've never seen nygen post a time slip, so noone knows what he runs.
But i like the other idea.
lest say forget this topic for now, and try it again in about a month or so once tracks open back up and everyone can run their car and get currnet numbers

It's true i've never ran at the tracks with my last turbo setup, but when i'm done in a couple weeks, not to be cocky and all, i should be #1, i hope at least.
The difference will be a built motor on 20 pounds of boost, but we'll just have to wait and see, i told you Springs i'm gunning for you!

20 lbs is doable with a good setup. if it is anything like kara's setup he will be #1.

This is all good but time slips will have to be a requirement.
I don't know where I'd be on the list don't have headers but have my manifold P&P, upper and lower. #3 1/2?

may be getting some steel rods cheaply in a few days
after I go manual you will have your work cut out
would be nice to see a fast ass 2.4L though :)

With Altitude Correction factors figured in, Springs's quickest time slip is actually a corrected 13.733 seconds @ 101.413 (approximately)! Not too shabby.

It must be torture launching a 3000+lb FWD car with an aftermarket clutch and 300+HP
Mike Karas dyno'd somewhere around 350-360HP with a full exhaust system on his 2.4 and I believe something like 23-25lbs of boost... still damn impressive, and he has a .020 overbored TwinCam with a good P&P job, "secret cams", an H.O. intake manifold and a TEC2 system for full control over engine tuning... still only had a log-style manifold though which can hurt performance especially at those boost levels...
If you arent faster, then go buy some 108 octane race gas and turn the boost up to 30psi
Make the TwinCam guys proud :P
