Yo guys, Here is my exhaust pictures and all. This is a follow up post from a previous one. (http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showtopic=18099)

A few members where wondering what custom exhaust I got done. I went into Mienkee and asked for custom exhaust, mandrel bent 2.5 inch. They told me that a Y setup would be great. And that they would come off the cat, and then go to a muffler and then two outlets. (Y Setup). They used a Vortech Muffler and I had them remove the resonator.

Here are some pictures. I got this exhaust about 4 years ago. And I am not sure what type of piping they ended up using, i know its 2.5 inch. Can someone tell me what kind it is? And why it rusted so much? It is my daily driver. BUT MY MAIN QUESTION IS, IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN PUT ON IT, OR SPRAY TO HELP COVER THE RUST OR TO STOP IT FROM RUSTING THROUGH. So far it has not rusted through and is pretty soild. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS WAS DONE ON A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS LIMITED BUDGET[B]. At the time. Here are the pictures:

Starting at the Cat:

Moving on we see the pipping they used, any idea what material it is?

Here it bends toward the driver side:

Now it goes up and over the Suspension:

Now this is from behind the car, the rear, looking back at where it came over the suspension:

Can someone tell me what they think I can do to protect my exhaust, from the rust and all. Or what I can spray on it?

Its an everyday driver, not all of us can afford more then one car. Remember I live in PA.

Maybe these are just to hold in tempature but perhaps they can be a good way of keeping the salt off the pipes

there is nothing you can do to avoid your exhaust rusting unless its a stainless steel exhaust.

it happenes to everyone........ even if you protect the outside of it now its to little to late....... its gonna continue to rust no matter what.

i dont drive my car in the winter and the exhaust system still has rust on it.

Which is the most convincing argument I've ever heard for why everyone should have stainless steel exhaust! :) and no--I don't.

That looks like stock sized piping and all they did is remove the stock resonator. How big is it supposed to be??

Brent: stainless steel will rust with road salt. yes, it will take longer to do, but it will still rust. (non-stainless will take one winter here, stainless maybe 3 winters. holes from rust would take 6+)

i have galvanized steel 2.5 exhaust pipe from the DP back and a SS magnaflow cat. and i dont see an ounce of rust.
