View Full Version : Different Headlight Mod

I tried a different headlight mod than just painting the bezel. Same basic principle though. It didn't turn out perfect, but it's not bad for as quick as it was. I removed the headlights and pulled them apart just like when you are clearing the corners. Then I cut the bezel that surrounds the drive light and the bright light. Then I cut down the taillamp area so it matched the natural curve that is in the plastic. Finally I taped it off and painted it. Also I scored three lines in that meet at the far turn lamp.

kit won't be painted until i get done with all the body mods. It's a waste of time to paint it three and four different times

hard to describe without seeing it in person, looks really good IMO.

as far as painting the kit, there's good reason for not doing it yet as he explained. Be patient, cuz there's still quite a few more body mods to be done yet.

Looking good so far.

I haven't seen the lights you are referring too. I got the idea from the cleared grand am and malibu lights. Chopping the bezel like that was the only way I could replicate the look without having to make a custom housing for the lights.

I have already blended the skirts, removed all emblems and filled the front emblem dip.

In the near future I am going to:
shave gas cap
shave handles
add new mirrors
add three piece wing (no not the rice boy kind......think....osv)
custom hood

Then I have a couple other ideas that I'm not even putting out there. Blackjack and I know what they are, and if I do it you'll love it, trust me.

Cool plans /\ just out of curiosity, if you shave the gas cap, where will you redirect the intake spout?

I am def liking what you did to the headlights..... im debating wheather that would look good with my alero, being that it is silver....

its either that or getting them painted black(the bezel)......
