How do you get to the auto-headlights sensor? I couldnt find it when i was trying to run my LED light to it. Any one have info on this? Thanks

I'm not sure where the sensor is, but you can try running that LED off another light that comes on with the headlights (I used the light in the cubby hole under the climate control knobs). That might be easier to get at.

Ummm.. he's probably trying to shine a led into it so his headlights never come on by themselves.
Thanks for that informative tip though! <_<

Its under the plastic peice in the front of your dash
just get a screwdriver and pry up gently and it'll pop off and it's right under there

To disable the ALC all I did was pull the sensor out of it's holder..take a 5mm LED & a resistor (Radioshack#271-086 Resistor)..wire it to the Pos. side of LED & power source (cars Ign) & other side of LED to ground. Place Sensor & LED CLOSE in a homemade box or tube of sorts (so the sensor will catch all the light from the LED. So that when the Ign key is turned on the LED will light & fool the sensor into thinking it is daytime

Using a light to stop lights from coming on?!? Now I understand what Bergs wants to do, but my question is 'Why'? If it's just to over-ride the DRL then take out the highbeam bulbs if you don't do much highway driving, or there is a relay you can remove or mess with.

It has nothing to do with the dash lights etc. only the ALC Automatic Light control...turns on your headlights automatically when it gets dark. This feature disables the auto headlights.

find the fuse/resistor thing under your hook and stick a piece of electrical tape between the contacts, its gunna stop your DRL and ALC.

If you do that, would that also make it so you can turn the fog lamps on by themselves, or not?

ImSoBored - That only defeats your DRL's not your ALC's, Your lights still come on automatically as soon as it gets dark.
SmokingAMD - If you get rid of your DRL's you can turn just your fog-lights on, but only when its light out. I already did that and now I am trying to get rid of my ALC's, so then that will allow me to turn my lights off at night, or just have my parking or fog-lights on.

Just pull the relays under your hood that are for the DRL's, auto healamps, and auto parking lights. This will give you full control of all of the lights. Yes you will be able to turn on your fog lights with just your parking lights on. Keep in mind, this will set off your Service Vehicle Soon light. So, if you don't mind seeing this everytime you are in your car, go ahead and do it this way. Also, if you pull out your DRL relay, it will disable your DRL's, but it will only allow on headlight to work when you have your brights on. I kept my DRL relay in because I live out in the middle of nowhere and I need both brights.
