does anyone with a remote starter ever have the problem where after you remote start it the security light comes on and stays on? i've had the r/s for couple years now and this winter was the first time the security light came on, but since the weather got warmer it doesnt seem to do it anymore, just wondering if this has happened to others.

I get this all the time since my car is a manual transmission. There is no way around, it as soon as the car starts with the starter it trips the sensor.

Any of the alarms/starters made by DEI inc will work with the alero, you just have to get the Passlock bypass module to go with it.

This guy sells on e-bay, I got my set-up from him.

Hmmm..... I have an Astrostart 2100 & it works great! I can start My car from down the block or in a steel walled store. You may have had a bad unit or the installer did a lousy job.
