Can't help with the probe but the yellow wire behind the radio is great for the ingtion source, and while your back there, the brown wire is for lighting.

that i know of, i dont think anybody on here has installed an oil temp guage? i have no idea where to put the sensor?

yes, there is a dummy light switch just above your starter, remove it and install the sensor there.

search the site for older posts there are alot of pics of guage installs.
