alright so i got my a/c charged about a month ago, and i never really had any nice days to try it until yesterday, i had it cranked wide open, and it on recurculate, and it was barely getting cold, but if i keep the revs at like 4,000 it would get cold.
So my question is, what sould i replace to "freshen up" the a/c system, i know that there is filters, evaporators, all kinds of good stuff in the a/c system. and this time i am going to replace seals, but i was thinking that maybe the compressor isn't compressing the way it should?? I don't know much about it, but i was hopin someone here would. I want my a/c workin GOOD!

Can't help you, I'm struggling with the same problem, apparently though, if you just had it recharged, you might have TOO MUCH of the coolant, 'cause I just had mine recharged awhile ago (haven't had a chance to bring it back) but my mechanic said he'd adjust it back down since it isn't working. I guess it's not a matter of cramming as much in as possible it's actually kind of sensitive.
That's what I'm hoping my problem is 'cause he's gonna fix it for free, I don't want to pay for a new compressor or something!

no i think mine was low, because before i got it recharged, the compressor made funny noises, like it was dry (which i know it supposed to shut off when its low) but after i got it recharged it stopped making the noise. :glare:

if it will cool at high rpm but not at idle you are most likely low on freon, possible bad compressor, you need to attach guages and tell me what the pressures are running? look around all of the a/c line connections you can see for oil residue. it will probably be coated with dust. you may have to clean them and run the system for a while and recheck.

thanks dude, i'll do that. so it would be best to bring it somewheres where they can can test it and tell me if its the compressor, or if its leaking or not.
and also, if i replace all these seals, should i replace the filter?? or anything else at that??
