I have been doing some research and found little answers. My mother in law has a 95 Jaguar XJS V12. They use a Harmond Kardon amp, speakers, and sub for the audio. She would like for me to place a Navigation unit in the Jag but keep the amp and speakers. I haven't been able to pull the HU to do any checks, but I do have some concerns. I was told by a member on caraudio that the crossovers are passive and after the amp. I would like to confirm this if possible. My other concern is over the ground. I have vague knowledge of the older positive ground systems, and I have confirmed that 95 Jags were made with positive and negative grounds. A current HU placed into a positive ground system without a polarity inverter will fry the HU. Is there anyone here that cold explain the positive ground. Is it based from the battery or the electrical componants? Can a simple ground to chasis fix the ground and how will it appear on a ohm meter? I haven't confirmed if the HU sends line level or speaker level signals to the amp. Either way, it will be a AC signal. I am assuming that since AC has no polarity, it won't hurt to run a new HU into a positive ground amp. Is this correct? Thanks for any help. Mike Gettinger
