I think it's time for a little upgrade to the sound system in my Alero. I am looking for the impossible for the front, which is a component system that i can use, to have a mid-bass in the doors and a tweeter in the stock location (I got the factory tweeter pods).

There doesn't seem to be any 4x6 component systems or 4x6 mid-bass in existence, can other sizes be easily modified to fit in the doors?

I was looking and i saw that the Audiobahn ACS2046P has a removable tweeter? I guess that would work, but is Audiobahn any good?

i personally like audiobahn stuff. its good for the money......... but you will get people who disagree with my opinion.

you dont HAVE To put the tweeter back up in that pod. you more than likely wouldnt notice a difference not having a workin tweeter up there

Those adapters look like a good idea.. I have some now-discontinued NIB kicker mid-mass 6.5s (F6.5C) lying around (they have a fairly large like 18 oz magnet) that might fit the bill if they're not too large.

I know a friend of mine will be extremely happy to get my old stock speakers for use in his 'vette. (stock '04 speakers are worlds better than stock '80 speakers!)
