I just put a cold air intake on my car last week. It sounds nice and runs ok, but as i have posted before seems to be stuttering a bit. When i told my friend about it he told me to disconnect the battery for 15 min. and then reconnect it. I wasnt sure this was a good idea, but i wanted someone else's opinion. Many of the guys on this site have put intakes on their cars so i thought you would know better than me or my friend.

Double 0 is right. Check to make sure when you reattached the MAF and IAT that you made good connection. I had a bad MAF connected and the thing ran crazy.

Won't change a thing, the GM PCM, most PCMs in fact have adaptive learning, and will contantly adjust and learn the new paramaters if or when anything changes.

i knew it had adaptive strategy, but i wasnt sure how long it would take to learn. It has been on for over a week now and still seems to run funny. I have left the MAF unplugged before and it was crazy, but its not doing the same right now. It idles fine, but in 1st and 2nd it seems "jumpy" at about 2000 rpm. It does fine again at about 2400. Now on launch it seems to kinda hesitate and then take off pretty good. It doesnt seem to do much until about 3000 rpm which is when it really picks up and moves. My engine seems powerless now, i dont understand why tho.

Mine has always been that way as far as it doesn't really take of until it gets above 3-3500. I have a video that illustrates it pretty good...

Try that...

I have switched batteries a couple times and I haven't lost my presets. you got nothing to lose.

also, the hesitation can be attributed to filthy injectors and throttle body and spark plugs. get some cleaners and use the cleaners with every oil change.
