I have a stupid question, I guess.
How fast (in 5th gear) will the Ecotech 5 speed go without excessive RPMs?
-like, what rpms at 75? 85?

I'm just asking this because some cars go 70 mph at 3k rpms, and I don't want that if I get the stick.
I have a GLS 3.4 AT right now, and its great, except that it has lots of mech problems and poor gas mi. I had a 2.2 auto before and it was quick and got great gas mi. But I want a stick, which leads to the above question...

Ok. At 120 km/h (75 mph) I am at just under 3000 rpms. That's my cruising speed so I know what rpms I'm at.

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for.

Let me know if you want to sell your car- same color/trim I'm looking for. :) (It'll be about another year before I plan to buy, but..) :)

yeah, it is very comfortable. My cobalt cruises around the same RPM and with 4 cyl, you really don't want it much slower
