I saw some pics today of Clear corner headlights. And I read that there's 2 ways to doing it like one is putting the headlight in the oven after preheating to 450 and letting the glue melt off then slidding out the yellow thing. or cutting the glue off. I'm kindof clueless on this and was going to just wing it tuesday w/a friend but i thought I would get some input from you guys who probably have done this. Any ideas? it would be much appreciated.

It would be awesome to meet someone around here who has a nice hooked up alero. I haven't really seen a hooked up alero around. Maybe I'll catch one when I go up to charlotte beach sunday nite when people drive their cars up.

unless you get headlights like the ones that I just got done doing...they were the biggest PITA ever...the factory sealant was NOT coming off...if that happens to you, just reheat the lights...gain, add an extra coating of your own sealant and shove them back together...

yea i was going to go buy some silicone when my friend got out of work b/c i don't think we'll be putting the underglows on today b/c it's a record breaking 100 degrees outside and it feels like 115-120 degrees w/humidity. So it all depends if he still wants to work on the underglows but the clear corners are going to be done today b/c i could work on them inside w/the a/c going. :)

IT's super easy! If I can do it without any problems(besides calling Pat cursing like a sailor), then anyone can!:)
Good luck with the lights and underglow!

Ok how long should it take for the silicone to dry or how long should I wait before putting them back on the car?
I think it took me around 6 hrs to do both of them and i came out w/blisters 2 fingers, a paper cut on 2 fingers, i stabbed myself w/a flat head in my thumb and leg, and i poked myself w/a knife on the same leg. Except for that they came out pretty good, just fustrating to get all the glue off. I just need to clean them up a bit b/c the first tube of silicone i used opened up at the other end and got all over my hands so there's silicone finger prints on my first headlight i did. the second came out better b/c i bought a better tube of silicone (this time it was a plastic tube and not the crappy metal tube i got from auto zone).

LOL p1mptress!
WHen I cleared mine, the first headlight took me like 3 hours bc I was cursing, i used a hair dryer, the screw drivers I was using weren't thin enough to pry the pieces apart, I was b*tching to Pat on the phone, had blisters all over my hands, nails were all broken, few cuts from the screw drivers, etc. But when I got to the second one I threw it in the oven and it took me about 20 minutes to do it all.
So I've been where you were!:P LOL! But hey! we did it! That's the main thing:) Post pics of the end result when you can!

I let them cool down a bit before I put them back in. I think I waited like 30mins or something like that.

Ok I finally finished it well like 2 days ago but i took pics. I know my car is a little dirty but i didn't have time to wash it. But it did rain really bad last nite and there seems to be no moisture in the headlights so i did a pretty good job sealing them. Let me know what you guys think!!

Thanks for making me atleast the red-headed step child. :yahoo:I have no idea about my hood I hit a deer back in february but they said they replaced my hood. I realized that when i was taking the pics today. Well I guess you can say its different b/c nobody else has a crooked hood. LOL And I guess I gotta start saving my pennies to drop it b/c I'm a struggling college student, but i think i can hopefully have it done before winter or worst the spring (just have to wait for work to pick-up so i can make more tips).

I didn't like how long the hairdryer was taking so I sped the process up with a propane torch just if you are going to use it keep the flame on low so you don't mangle the plastic.

just scrape it off with a flat-head screwdriver or razor blade. And you don't even really need to get all the old stuff of, as long as there's enough room for the lens to slide back on with your new silicone...with a new airtight seal.

Just shave the front part of the hood off to even it out. lol :jk:
